Alright. Here it goes.
Hi. I'm Alicia. For those of you who don't know me well, I'm a mom and teacher-turned-photographer and have been serving the Kingston area with cute family photos for the past couple of years. Recently, I've been taking some courses on running a photography business and almost all of them recommend starting a blog so you can document your journey. To me, a blog feels very ... early 2000s. But I love a good throwback so I thought I'd give it a shot.
This will be a space for me to document the shoots I do (with model releases of course) and give a snapshot into who I am and what it's like to work with me. Past clients can come to reminisce on how adorable and tiny their kids were, and future clients can get a feel for how much I love my current clients (hint: it's a lot)
One of my favourite things about running Alicia Marie Photography is the charity work I get to do. This whole business concept started as a charity event where I took pictures with my iphone. I was blown away by the response and I had many of the Kingston area moms asking if I would do their family photos as well. My husband ended up buying me a real camera for Christmas that year and it kind of exploded into this amazing creative venture where I get to do something that I so enjoy while also giving back to our awesome community. Now every mini session I do has a charity attached to it so not only do you get some precious family photos, you also get to give back to a good cause.
I just wanted to give a huge thank you to the moms that have encouraged me along the way and to my amazing family - my husband and two babies. You all gave me so much confidence and love in the early days and made me truly consider taking this leap; something I would've never done otherwise. Â And even though the imposter syndrome is still very real, capturing your real-Life moments and trying to pause those fleeting memories for you with a warm, genuine and candid style has been such a privilege. I'm honoured that you've trusted me to do this.
